SYNOPSIS: Get ready to “Move it! Move it!” Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the hip Hippo, four pampered animals from New York’s Central Park Zoo, as they accidentally find themselves shipwrecked on the exotic island of Madagascar.

A Social Story, a resource guide for parents and children, is also available for download, so patrons can get a feel for the theatre experience before the day of the show. A quiet room is available, should patrons need to leave the theatre at any time.

Adjustments have been made to the show’s lighting and sound effects. Volunteer helpers are stationed in the lobby and throughout the theatre to assist patrons as they are seated. Special modifications have been made to Orlando REP’s production of Madagascar – A Musical Adventure for this Sensory-Friendly performance. Often, because of these challenges, families that include a child with special needs do not feel that the world of theatre is accessible to them. And for many, the requirements to remain seated quietly for an extended period of time is a nearly impossible task. The flashing lights and loud noises that may occur onstage can be unbearable for children with these types of sensitivities. Following the success of previous Sensory-Friendly productions, Orlando REP presents this performance on March 11 at 5:30pm for that audience.

Orlando REP is pleased to announce its Sensory-Friendly performance of Madagascar – A Musical Adventure, specially designed for children with autism, Asperger’s, or other sensory processing disorders and special needs. This show has ended but we have more for you to see! Madagascar – A Musical Adventure | Sensory-Friendly Performance
